Twenty-One Essential Basics – Part 1
The main premise of the game is to be dealt cards adding up to twenty-one. Every competitor is dealt two cards. When a blackjack player is dealt a nine or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been handed a soft hand. When the player receives no Ace it is referred to as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been given to every player at the table, which includes the dealer, each player is provided the chance to make one of 6 decisions:
Taking another card (Hit): When a black jack player says hit me the dealer will deal him another card, if the addition of that card causes the total greater than twenty one the gambler will have busted and that is the end of the game, if the card makes the total to twenty one the black jack player is the winner and if the value of the hand has not yet reached twenty one they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you’ve been given: If a black jack player is happy with the cards they will stay. As soon as this has happened the dealer will show his or her hand and the gambler who has accumulated twenty one or the nearest to 21 will win.
Doubling Down: A black jack player may ask to double down which increases the wager by one hundred percent they have laid. As soon as you have taken this action you can only receive one more card. The specifics of doubling down are often out lined by the blackjack table or betting house game rules so prior to competing make sure you are comfortable with the house game rules. If you’re playing at a net betting house this is normally very easy.
